GIANT XtC SLR 2

The "XtC SLR 2" model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a high-quality mountain bike priced at 1399 EUR. It features a robust AluxX SLR frame with a 12x148mm axle spacing, offering a maximum tyre clearance of 2.4" and a maximum chainring size of 36T.

The bike is fitted with Tektro HD-M275 disc brakes, featuring a 180 mm front rotor and a 160 mm rear rotor. The brake levers are also from Tektro and contribute to reliable braking performance. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Deore M6100 Shadow+ 12-speed system, which enables precise and smooth gear changes, controlled by Shimano Deore M6100 shifters.

Suspension is provided by a GIANT Crest 34 RRL fork with handlebar lockout and 100 mm of travel. This fork features a Boost standard of 15x110 mm. The bottom bracket is a Praxis Pressfit, whilst the crankset consists of a Praxis Cadet M24 with a 32T chainring and a 52mm chainline. The cassette is a Shimano Deore M6100 with a 10–51T range, and the chain is a KMC X-12.

Steering and control are provided by a GIANT Connect XC handlebar with a width of 740 mm, combined with GIANT Sole-O grips and a GIANT Contact stem, which is 60 mm long. The rims are GIANT XCT models, which are tubeless-ready and have an internal width of 25 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Rekon Race 29x2.25 EXO, also tubeless-ready, and the bike is supplied tubeless.

The hubs are D47-CI-F at the front and D947-CI-R at the rear, whilst the spokes are from Sapim. The saddle is a GIANT Sport model, mounted on a GIANT Connect seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. In addition, the bike comes with a tubeless kit comprising sealant, valves, tyre levers, a valve core remover and instructions.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 421 mm, a stack of 607 mm, a seat tube length of 380 mm and a top tube length of 595 mm. The head tube angle is 70 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The head tube is 95 mm long, the chainstays are 440 mm long and the bottom bracket drop is 58 mm. The fork offset is 51 mm and the standover height is 727 mm. The crank length is 170 mm and the overall wheelbase is 1117 mm.

This model therefore offers a balanced combination of stability, control and comfort and is ideally suited to ambitious mountain bikers looking for a reliable and high-performance bike.
