GIANT Trance jr.

The “Trance Jr.” model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a high-quality mountain bike designed for young riders. It is available at a price of 2299 EUR and offers a wide range of technical features that ensure both performance and comfort.

The Trance Jr.’s frame consists of an AluxX SL frame with a Maestro rear triangle, offering 120 mm of suspension travel and a 12x148 mm axle width. This design ensures stable yet agile handling. The fork is a RockShox Recon Silver RL with handlebar lockout and 120 mm of travel. It is built to the Boost standard with a 15x110 mm axle width, which provides additional stiffness and control. The rear shock is a RockShox Deluxe Select+ RT with SoloAir and TrunnionMount, which ensures a smooth ride.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-MT200 disc brakes with 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear, operated by Shimano BL-MT201 brake levers. This combination offers reliable and easily modulated braking power in a variety of conditions.

The Trance Jr.’s gear system consists of a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, controlled via SRAM SX Eagle shifters. The crankset is also from SRAM SX Eagle and features a 32T chainring, whilst the cassette covers a range of 11–50T. The bottom bracket is a SRAM GXP DUB Pressfit.

The bike is fitted with GIANT AM 26 Disc rims, which are tubeless-ready, offering the option to switch to tubeless tyres. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF 26x2.35 with 60 TPI at the front and Maxxis Ardent 26x2.25 with 60 TPI at the rear, which are supplied with inner tubes as standard.

Other features include GIANT Connect handlebars, GIANT Sole-O grips, a forged alloy stem and an alloy seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. The saddle is a GIANT Contact Forward, which provides extra comfort. The hubs are GIANT Disc models and the spokes are made of stainless steel, which contributes to the bike’s durability.

In addition, the Trance Jr. is fitted with a GIANT 1x chain guide, which ensures that the chain stays securely in place even on challenging rides. Pedals are not included, allowing riders to choose according to their individual preferences.
