GIANT Revolt Advanced 3

GIANT’s 2023 “Revolt Advanced 3” model is a versatile gravel bike which, at a price of 2299 EUR, represents an attractive option for ambitious cyclists. The frame is made from Advanced Carbon and features a flip-chip dropout, which allows for tyre clearance of up to 45 mm in the short setting and 53 mm in the long setting. This offers flexibility for a variety of riding conditions and terrains.

The Revolt Advanced 3’s braking system consists of Shimano BR-RX400 HRD brakes with 160 mm discs, ensuring reliable braking performance. The brake levers are also by Shimano – specifically the GRX RX-400 HRD models, which are renowned for their ergonomics and precision. The groupset is a Shimano GRX RX-400 with 10 speeds, combined with a 2-speed shifter of the same type. The front derailleur is a Shimano Tiagra, which ensures smooth and precise gear changes.

The bike’s fork is a GIANT Revolt Advanced full-carbon fork with OverDrive1 and a 12x100 mm axle, which provides stiffness and control. The bottom bracket is a Shimano Pressfit, whilst the crankset consists of an FSA Omega with 48/32T chainrings. The cassette is a Shimano Tiagra CS-HG500 with an 11–34T range, and the drivetrain is completed by a KMC X-10-1 chain.

The handlebars are GIANT Contact XR D-Fuse, 440 mm wide, fitted with GIANT Stratus Lite 3.0 grips for comfort on long rides. The stem is a GIANT Contact, 70 mm long. The rims are GIANT P-X2 Disc, Tubeless Ready, which, in combination with the GIANT CrossCut AT1 tyres (700x38c, Tubeless Ready, 60 TPI), offer excellent traction and puncture resistance. The hubs and spokes are also part of the GIANT P-X2 Disc system.

The saddle is a GIANT Approach, mounted on a GIANT Contact D-Fuse seatpost, which, at 30.9 mm, is also compatible with Vario seatposts. The bike is also compatible with the GIANT Rack-It Metro (Lite) luggage rack, making it a good choice for longer tours and commuting.

Additional equipment includes a tubeless kit containing sealant, valves, tyre levers, a valve core tool and an instruction manual. The bike’s geometry offers a balanced riding position with a reach of 387 mm, a stack of 586 mm, a seat tube length of 470 mm and a top tube length of 560 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. Other dimensions include a head tube length of 150 mm, a chainstay length of 425 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 80 mm, a fork offset of 50 mm, a standover height of 757 mm, a crank length of 173 mm and a wheelbase of 1026 mm.
