GIANT Revolt 1

The “Revolt 1” model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a versatile gravel bike that stands out for its high-quality components and well-thought-out design. The price for this model is 1,699 EUR.

The Revolt 1’s frame is made from AluxX aluminium with a Flip Chip dropout and an axle width of 12x142 mm. The maximum tyre clearance is 45 mm in the short setup and 53 mm in the long setup. This allows for flexible adaptation to different types of terrain and personal preferences.

The bike’s braking system consists of Shimano BR-RX400 HRD disc brakes with 160 mm rotors, which ensure reliable stopping power. The brake levers are also by Shimano, specifically the GRX RX-400 HRD model. The groupset is a Shimano GRX RX-400 with 10 speeds, and the shifter is a Shimano GRX RX-400 with 2 speeds. The front derailleur is from Shimano’s Tiagra series.

At the heart of the bike is the GIANT Revolt Advanced full-carbon fork with OverDrive1 and a 12x100 mm axle width. The bottom bracket is an FSA Mega EXO, and the crankset consists of an FSA Omega Adventure with 48/32T chainrings. The cassette is a Shimano Tiagra CS-HG500 with an 11–34T range, and power is transmitted via a KMC X-10 chain.

The handlebars are GIANT Contact XR D-Fuse with a width of 440 mm, and the grips are made from GIANT Cork. The stem, also from GIANT Contact, is 90 mm long. The rims are GIANT S-X2 Disc, which are tubeless-ready and come fitted with GIANT CrossCut AT2 tyres in size 700x38c. These tyres are also tubeless-ready and have a 30 TPI casing.

The hubs and spokes are also part of the GIANT S-X2 Disc system. The saddle is a GIANT Approach, mounted on a GIANT D-Fuse seatpost, which is compatible with 30.9 mm seatposts. The bike is also prepared for fitting a GIANT Rack-It Metro (Lite) luggage rack.

In addition, the Revolt 1 comes with a tubeless kit comprising sealant, valves, tyre levers, a valve core tool and an instruction manual.

The bike’s geometry features a reach of 387 mm, a stack of 586 mm, a seat tube length of 470 mm and a top tube length of 560 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle 74 degrees, the head tube length 150 mm, the chainstay length 430 mm and the bottom bracket drop 80 mm. The fork offset is 50 mm, the standover height is 752 mm, the crank length is 173 mm and the wheelbase is 1030 mm.
