GIANT Fathom E+ Pro 1

The “Fathom E+ Pro 1” model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a high-quality e-mountain bike designed for challenging trails and versatile off-road riding. The price for this model is 4099 EUR.

The frame is an AluxX SL frame with an integrated speed sensor and is EnergyPak Plus-compatible. It has a 12x148mm axle spacing, which provides additional stability. The brakes are Shimano Deore BR-MT420 4-piston calipers with 203 mm and 180 mm brake discs, ensuring reliable braking performance. The brake levers are Shimano Deore BL-M401.

The drivetrain is a Shimano Deore SLX M7100 Shadow+ with 12 speeds, controlled by the Shimano Deore M6100 shifter. The fork is a RockShox Recon Silver RL with MotionControl damping and offers 130 mm of travel. It is optimised for e-MTBs and has a Boost axle width of 15x110 mm. The pedals are made of aluminium and are platform pedals.

The crankset consists of an FSA Comet with an FSA MegaTooth 36T chainring. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a gear range of 10–51T. Power is transmitted via a KMC e12 Sport EPT chain, which is specially optimised for e-bikes.

The bike’s cockpit consists of a GIANT Connect TR riser handlebar with a width of 400 mm and a rise of 20 mm. The grips are GIANT Tactal single lock-on. The stem is a GIANT Contact with a length of 90 mm.

The rims are GIANT AM 29", tubeless-ready with an internal width of 30 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Minion DHF 29 x 2.5" foldable at the front and Maxxis Aggressor 29 x 2.5" foldable at the rear, both tubeless and featuring EXO protection. However, the bike is supplied with inner tubes as standard. The hubs are Shimano MT410 and the spokes are made of stainless steel.

The saddle is a GIANT Sport and the seatpost is a GIANT Contact Switch Vario seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm, with the travel varying depending on frame size (S: 125 mm, M: 150 mm, L/XL: 170 mm). The bike is compatible with the KSA 18 side stand and the GIANT Rack-It Metro [Lite] luggage rack.

Additional equipment includes a tubeless kit containing fluid, valves, tyre levers, a valve core remover and instructions. The motor is a GIANT SyncDrive Pro, powered by Yamaha, delivering 80 Nm of torque. The battery is a GIANT EnergyPak Smart Integrated with a capacity of 625 Wh and is compatible with the EP Plus RangeExtender. The display is a RideControl Dash 2in1.

The charger is a GIANT EnergyPak SmartCharger Compact with an output of 4A. The bike’s geometry features a reach of 375 mm, a stack of 541 mm, a seat tube length of 465 mm, a top tube length of 530 mm, a head tube angle of 72 degrees, a seat tube angle of 74 degrees, a head tube length of 138 mm, a chainstay length of 412 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 75 mm, a fork offset of 50 mm, a standover height of 746 mm, a crank length of 170 mm and a wheelbase of 986 mm.
