GIANT Fathom E+ 2

The "Fathom E+ 2" model from the GIANT brand from 2023 is a versatile e-mountainbike that represents an attractive offer with a price of EUR 3199. The AluxX frame is robust and lightweight, it is also equipped with an integrated speed sensor and is compatible with the EnergyPak Plus for an extended range. The bike has an SR Suntour XCR 32 LO fork with 120 mm travel and Boost 15x110mm, which provides excellent damping and control on uneven terrain.

Braking power is provided by Tektro HD-M280 disc brakes with 180 mm rotors and corresponding brake levers, which guarantee reliable deceleration. The gearing consists of a Shimano Deore M5120 Shadow+ 10-speed drivetrain, controlled by a Shimano Deore M4100 gear lever, which enables precise and smooth gear changes. The drivetrain is supported by a KMC e.10 Sport chain, optimised for e-bikes.

The bike is equipped with an FSA Comet crankset, which includes an FSA MegaTooth 36T chainring, as well as a Shimano Deore CS-M4100 cassette with a gear ratio of 11-46T. The aluminium platform pedals offer a secure grip and efficient power transmission.

The GIANT Connect TR riser handlebar has a width of 620 mm and a rise of 20 mm, complemented by GIANT Tactal single lock-on grips and a GIANT Contact stem with a length of 110 mm. The wheels consist of GIANT XCT 29" rims, which are tubeless ready and 25 mm wide, combined with Maxxis Rekon 29 x 2.4" tyres, which are foldable and tubeless with EXO protection, but are supplied with a tube. The hubs are Shimano MT410 models, connected by stainless steel spokes.

The saddle is a GIANT Sport model, mounted on a GIANT seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. The bike is compatible with a KSA 18 kickstand and a GIANT Rack-It Metro [Lite] pannier rack.

The motor of the Fathom E+ 2 is the GIANT SyncDrive Sport, which is powered by Yamaha and delivers a torque of 70 Nm. The battery is a GIANT EnergyPak Smart Integrated 500 with a capacity of 500 Wh, which is charged with a GIANT EnergyPak SmartCharger Compact charger (4A). The bike is also compatible with the EP Plus RangeExtender for an extended range. The RideControl Dash 2in1 display offers intuitive control and an overview of the most important riding data.

The geometry of the frame comprises a seat tube length of 520 mm, a top tube length of 595 mm, a head tube angle of 73 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees. The head tube measures 200 mm in length, the chainstay length is 425 mm and the bottom bracket is lowered by 70 mm. The fork pre-bend is 50 mm and the standover height is 767 mm. The crank length is 175 mm and the wheelbase measures a total of 1045 mm. The reach is 403 mm and the stack is 607 mm.
