GIANT Fathom E+ 1

The "Fathom E+ 1" model from GIANT, released in 2023, is a versatile e-mountain bike available at a price of 3399 EUR. The frame is made from AluxX and is fitted with an integrated speed sensor. It is also compatible with the EnergyPak Plus and features a 141 mm QR axle.

The bike is fitted with powerful Shimano Deore BR-MT400 brakes, which use a 203 mm front and an 180 mm rear brake disc. The brake levers are also from Shimano, model Deore BL-M401. The drivetrain is a 12-speed Shimano Deore M6100 Shadow+, controlled by shift levers of the same model.

The SR Suntour XCR 34 Air LO-R fork offers 120 mm of travel and utilises the Boost 15x110 mm system. The pedals are made of aluminium and the crankset consists of an FSA Comet with an FSA MegaTooth 36T chainring. The cassette is a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 with a 10–51T gear range, and the drivetrain is supported by a KMC e.12 Sport chain, which is specially optimised for e-bikes.

The handlebars are GIANT Connect TR Riser, 620 mm wide with a 20 mm rise. The grips are GIANT Tactal Single Lock-on. The stem, also from GIANT, is 110 mm long. The rims are GIANT XCT 29", tubeless-ready with an internal width of 25 mm, fitted with Maxxis Rekon tyres in size 29 x 2.4", which are foldable, tubeless and feature EXO protection. The hubs are Shimano MT410 models, and the spokes are made of stainless steel.

The saddle is a GIANT Sport model, mounted on a GIANT seatpost with a diameter of 30.9 mm. The bike is compatible with a KSA 18 side stand and a GIANT Rack-It Metro [Lite] luggage rack.

The motor is a GIANT SyncDrive Sport, powered by Yamaha, delivering a torque of 70 Nm. The battery is a GIANT EnergyPak Smart Integrated 500 with a capacity of 500 Wh and is compatible with the EP Plus RangeExtender. The display is a RideControl Dash 2in1, and the charger is a GIANT EnergyPak SmartCharger Compact with an output of 4A.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 403 mm, a stack of 607 mm, a seat tube length of 520 mm and a top tube length of 595 mm. The head tube angle is 73 degrees, as is the seat tube angle. The head tube length is 200 mm, the chainstay length 425 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 70 mm, the fork offset is 50 mm and the standover height is 767 mm. The crank length is 175 mm and the wheelbase measures 1045 mm in total.
