Cube Reaction TM desert´n´orange

The "Reaction TM desert’n’orange" model from Cube, released in 2021, is a versatile and robust mountain bike designed for challenging trail adventures. Priced at 1249 EUR, this bike offers excellent value for money.

The Reaction TM’s frame is made from Aluminium Lite and features Trail Motion Geometry. It is equipped with technologies such as AMF (Advanced Mechanical Forming), ARG (Agile Ride Geometry) and internal cable routing. The frame is also designed for easy fitting of a kickstand and features a tapered head tube and a Press Fit bottom bracket. The bike can accommodate tyres up to 2.8" wide in 27.5+ inch size, providing additional stability and traction. The bike’s total weight is 14 kg.

For the brakes, Cube has opted for Magura MT Thirty hydraulic disc brakes, which feature four pistons at the front and two at the rear. The disc size is 180 mm in each case, ensuring reliable braking power in all conditions. The drivetrain consists of the SRAM SX Eagle™ 12-speed groupset, operated by an SRAM SX Eagle™ trigger shifter. The crankset is the SRAM X1 1000 Eagle™ DUB with 30 teeth and a Boost chainline, whilst the SRAM PG-1210 Eagle™ cassette offers a range of 11–50 teeth.

The X-Fusion RC32 fork, with 130 mm of travel and a tapered steerer tube, ensures optimum suspension performance on uneven terrain. The pedals are CUBE PP MTB, which provide a secure grip. The handlebars are Newmen Evolution 318.20 with a width of 760 mm, combined with CUBE Race Grip 31 mm grips and a Newmen Evolution 318.4 stem with a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is a VP Integrated System, with a diameter of 1 1/8" at the top and 1 1/2" at the bottom.

The CUBE EX30 rims are tubeless-ready and have 32 spoke holes, making them particularly robust. The tyres are Maxxis Assegai MaxxTerra/EXO+ at the front, with a width of 2.5" WT, and Maxxis Minion DHR II MaxxTerra/EXO+ at the rear, with a width of 2.4" WT; both are also tubeless-ready. The hubs are from Shimano: the front hub is the HB-MT400-B model with a 15 mm axle and Boost standard, whilst the rear hub is the FH-MT400-B with a 12 mm axle and Boost standard; both feature CentreLock brake disc mounts.

The saddle is a Natural Fit Venec Lite, mounted on a CUBE Dropper Post seatpost with handlebar lever and internal cable routing, offering 120 mm of travel in size S and 130 mm in sizes M, L and XL. The package is rounded off by the CUBE Close saddle clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm.
