Cannondale Topstone Carbon Apex AXS

The 2024 Cannondale Topstone Carbon Apex AXS is a versatile gravel bike that is characterised by its advanced technology and high-quality equipment. With a price tag of EUR 3999, this model offers a remarkable combination of performance and comfort.

The frame of the Topstone Carbon is made of carbon and is equipped with the Kingpin suspension system, which provides improved damping on uneven terrain. It is SmartSense-compatible and has a Proportional Response construction that enables optimum adjustment to different rider sizes. The frame is also equipped with a 12x142mm thru axle and 27.2mm dropper post preparation.

The brakes are SRAM Apex hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm centreline rotors on both wheels, providing reliable braking power in all conditions. The shifters are also from SRAM Apex AXS and offer a wireless, hydraulic 12-speed shifting system that is precise and responsive.

The handlebar is a Cannondale 3 made from butted 6061 aluminium with a 16 degree flare drop, which provides additional stability. The grips are Fizik Solocush Soft with a thickness of 3mm. The stem is also made of Cannondale 3 6061 aluminium with a 7 degree angle.

The headset is integrated and has a diameter of 1-1/8" to 1.5". The rims are DT Swiss G540 with 28 spokes and an inner width of 24mm. The tyres are WTB Riddler TCS Light, 700x45c, and tubeless ready, which ensures better traction and puncture resistance.

The hubs are Formula ball bearing hubs with centre lock mounts, the front hub has a size of 12x100mm and the rear hub 12x142mm. The spokes are made of stainless steel with a thickness of 14g.

The saddle is a Fizik New Aliante R5 with S-Alloy rails, while the seatpost is a Cannondale 3 made of 6061 aluminium with the dimensions 27.2x350mm.

In terms of geometry, the Topstone Carbon Apex AXS has a reach of 379mm, a stack of 605mm, a seat tube length of 553mm and a top tube length of 571mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees and the seat tube angle is 72 degrees. The head tube length is 177mm, the chainstay length is 420mm and the fork reach is 55mm. The standover height is 829mm and the wheelbase measures a total of 1046mm.
