Cannondale Topstone Carbon 3

The Cannondale Topstone Carbon 3 from 2024 is a versatile gravel bike that is equipped with numerous high-quality components and is available at a price of EUR 2999. The frame of the model is made of Topstone Carbon and is equipped with the Kingpin suspension system, which ensures a comfortable ride. The frame is SmartSense compatible and features a Proportional Response construction as well as a 12x142mm thru-axle and is ready for a 27.2mm dropper seatpost.

The brakes are Shimano GRX 400 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm RT64 rotors front and rear for reliable braking performance. The brake levers are also from Shimano GRX 600 and the gearing consists of a Shimano GRX 810 Shadow RD+ groupset with 22 gears, which is controlled by Shimano GRX 600 shifters. The front derailleur is a Shimano GRX 810, which is mounted on a braze-on bracket.

The fork of the Topstone Carbon 3 is also made of carbon and has a 1-1/8" to 1.5" head tube, a 55mm OutFront offset and a flat mount disc brake mount. It offers internal cable routing, a 12x100mm thru-axle and several mounting points for bottle cages and mudguards. The suspension travel of the shock is 30 mm.

The bottom bracket is an FSA Mega EXO and the crankset is an FSA Gossamer Pro Modular AGX+ with a gear ratio of 46/30. The cassette is a Shimano HG700 with a gradation of 11-34 with 11 gears. The drive is provided by a Shimano HG601 chain.

The handlebar is a Cannondale 3 made of butted 6061 aluminium with a 16 degree flare drop, while the grips are Fizik Solocush Soft with a thickness of 3mm. The stem is also made of Cannondale 3 aluminium with an angle of 7 degrees and a diameter of 31.8mm. The headset is integrated and ranges from 1-1/8" to 1.5".

The rims are WTB ST i23 TCS, tubeless ready with a diameter of 700c and a spoke count of 28. The tyres are WTB Riddler TCS Light in the size 700x45c, also tubeless ready. In Europe and the UK, Vittoria Terreno Dry tyres in size 700x38c ANT are used. The hubs are Formula ball bearings with centre lock mounts, size 12x100mm at the front and 12x142mm at the rear. The spokes are made of stainless steel with a thickness of 14g.

The saddle is a Fizik Aliante Delta with S-alloy rails and the seat post is a Cannondale 3 made of 6061 aluminium with the dimensions 27.2x350mm.

The geometry of the bike offers the following dimensions: a reach of 383 mm, a stack of 574 mm, a seat tube length of 505 mm and a top tube length of 557 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees and the seat tube angle is 73 degrees. The head tube length is 150 mm, the chainstay length is 420 mm and the fork pre-bend is 55 mm. The standover height is 785 mm and the wheelbase measures a total of 1029 mm.

The total gross weight of the bike is around 32000 g. The Cannondale Topstone Carbon 3 therefore offers a balanced combination of comfort, performance and versatility for demanding gravel adventures.
