Bergamont Horizon 3 Gent

The "Horizon 3 Gent" model from Bergamont, released in 2022, is a versatile trekking bike that stands out for its high-quality components and robust construction. Priced at 779 EUR, it offers excellent value for money.

The bike’s frame is made from lightweight AL-6061 aluminium and is designed for 28-inch wheels. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 16 kg. This combination ensures a stable yet lightweight design.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro V-brakes, which, in conjunction with the Shimano ST-EF500-8 brake levers, offer reliable deceleration. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano RD-M310 groupset, controlled via Shimano ST-EF500 shifters, enabling a 3x8-speed gearing system. The front derailleur is a Shimano FD-TY710, ensuring precise gear changes.

The Suntour NEX P suspension fork, with 63 mm of travel and adjustable preload, provides additional comfort on uneven terrain. The lighting comprises an Axa Compactline front light with 20 lux and a parking light function, as well as a Trelock LS613 Duo Flat rear light, also with a parking light function.

The bike is fitted with Trekking KS pedals and features a Shimano BB-UN101 bottom bracket. The crankset is a Shimano FC-TY301 with three chainrings (48/38/28 teeth) and a chain guard. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200-8 with a range of 12 to 32 teeth, and the drivetrain uses a KMC Z8 chain.

The handlebars are BGM Comp Riser Bars with a 30° back sweep, complemented by ergonomic BGM Comfort grips. The stem is a BGM Comp Vario with a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset is a BGM Comp, semi-integrated and threaded (1 1/8").

The rims are BGM Comp X2 with CNC-machined sidewalls and 32 spokes. The tyres are Schwalbe Road Cruiser with Kevlarguard and reflective strips (47-622). The hubs comprise a Shimano DH-C3000 hub dynamo at the front and a Shimano quick-release hub at the rear. The spokes are made of black steel.

The saddle is a Syncros Capilano Trekking, mounted on a Post Moderne PM-780E suspension seatpost. SKS mudguards with stainless steel struts and an SKS Chainblade chain guard are also fitted. An Atran kickstand and a BGM aluminium trekking luggage rack with the Racktime Snapit 2.0 system round off the specification.
