Bergamont Grandurance RD 3 black

The “Grandurance RD 3 black” model from the “Bergamont” brand, released in 2024, is a versatile and robust bicycle designed for a variety of uses. Priced at 1,399 EUR, it offers excellent value for money.

The bike’s frame is made from a super-light AL-6061 tube set and is designed for 28-inch wheels. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 13 kg. The recommended rider height is between 181 cm and 193 cm.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro MD-C400 mechanical disc brakes at both the front and rear, combined with Tektro TR-160-24 brake discs with a diameter of 160 mm. The brake levers, Shimano Claris ST-R2000, ensure precise and reliable control of the brakes.

The Grandurance RD 3 black’s gear system consists of a Shimano Claris RD-R2000 rear derailleur with a long cage and a Shimano Claris FD-R2000 front derailleur. The shift levers are also Shimano Claris ST-R2000 and offer 2x8-speed gear changes. The crankset is a Shimano FC-RS2000 with 50/34t chainrings, and the cassette is a Shimano CS-HG31-8 with a gear range of 11–34t.

The bike’s fork is made of aluminium and features a quick-release mechanism as well as a flat-mount bracket with three mounting eyelets on each side. Lighting is provided by the Herrmans H-Black MR4 LED front light and the Herrmans H-Trace Mini LED rear light, both with a parking light function.

The bike is supplied without pedals, allowing the buyer to choose according to their own preferences. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-UN300, BSA. The Satori X-Race handlebars are 440 mm wide and have a 16° flare, whilst the Syncros 3.0 stem is 90 mm long and has an angle of +/-10°. The headset is an Acros ZS56, semi-integrated and tapered.

The rims are Shining DB-T260 Disc, and the black stainless steel spokes provide additional stability. The tyres, Schwalbe G-One Allround RaceGuard in size 40-622, offer excellent grip and puncture protection. The front hub is a Shimano DH-3D32 hub dynamo, whilst the rear hub is a BGM Pro; both feature 6-hole disc mounts and quick-release mechanisms.

The Syncros Tofino 2.5 saddle and Syncros seatpost provide comfort on longer rides. The bike is also fitted with BGM Allroad mudguards and a Racktime / BGM Allroad Carrier with the SnapIt 2.0 system.

The bike’s geometry features a seat tube length of 560 mm, a top tube length of 575 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 75 degrees. Further dimensions include a head tube length of 180 mm, a chainstay length of 435 mm, a bottom bracket drop of 70 mm, a fork offset of 50 mm, a top tube height of 841 mm, a fork installation height of 420 mm, a crank length of 175 mm, a wheelbase of 1091 mm and a bottom bracket height of 294 mm.

The Grandurance RD 3 black is therefore a well-equipped bike that is suitable for both everyday use and longer rides.
