Bergamont recalls bikes and mudguards. The Bergamont recall includes bikes from the Grandurance RD and Sweep EQ series as well as fenderset mudguards from model years 2020 to 2022.

Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH is launching a product recall that affects bicycle and mudguard models from model years 2020, 2021 and 2022. Models from other years are not affected by the recall.

Bergamont has found that the bracket that attaches the front mudguard to the fork crown can break if it is under lateral pressure or if it is twisted while riding, which can lead to a loss of control and an accident with serious injuries.

A total of 18,150 bikes and 165 mudguard sets are affected by the Bergamont recall.

The serial number of the Bergamont Grandurance RD or Sweep EQ bike must be checked to see if the bike is affected:

Info about Grandurance

The Bergamont Grandurance RD is a typical representative of the category Randonneur and is aimed at "commuters, tourers and explorers". The randonneur is originally a road touring bike with mudguards, pannier rack and lights. Commuters are appropriately equipped commuter bikes with comparable features. Today, these commuter bikes are mostly based on appropriately equipped, inexpensive gravel bikes.
