Already the Previous version of the Fascenario could not really be pigeonholed. The high level of comfort at the rear of the bike categorised it as a marathon model, while the sporty riding position and low weight were clear indicators of a competition racer. Storck described the bike as an "all-rounder", which clearly stands out from the competition. aerodynamically optimised Aerfast.5 was the first of its kind. The new generation is now much closer to the currently fastest production bike in the TOUR test: the Facenario.5 sees itself as a typical race all-rounder that aims to combine aerodynamics and lightweight construction.
The aero performance in particular makes you sit up and take notice. After all, the Storck should only need 208 watts in the fastest setup to overcome its own air resistance at 45 km/h. According to the manufacturer, the result is based on the test setup that TOUR also uses for its measurements in the wind tunnel. Without a water bottle, the aero performance would improve by a further three watts, according to the manufacturer from Idstein. With 208 watts, which the new product achieves with 62 millimetre high DT Swiss wheels, the Storck Fascenario.5 pushes into the Circle of the best race all-rounders and leaves well-known competitors behind.
The frame set with hints of an aero shape, the relatively long fork is reminiscent of the design of the Aerfast.5 and the fully integrated cockpit looks much more modern than its predecessor. In addition to the improved aerodynamics, the frame is also said to be nine per cent lighter. An individual weight is not known, but Storck quotes 6.5 kilograms for the lightest complete bike. This means that the new model would remain under the UCI weight limit even when ready to ride.
The most striking component is the handlebar/stem unit. On the one hand, the cockpit is characterised by its aero profile and a large flare (19 degrees), which should favour a streamlined riding position. On the other hand, the control centre can be combined with a triathlon attachment; the mounting points on the top handlebar are protected by a cover. Speaking of the riding position: Storck reports that the ratio of stack (actual height) and reach (actual length) of the frame is an extreme 1.38. You can hardly sit more racy in the saddle.
Nothing is known about the riding comfort. However, the greater tyre clearance and low seat stays compared to its predecessor suggest that the Fascenario.5 is not uncomfortable to ride. Up to 35-millimetre tyres now fit through the fork and frame, a whopping 7 millimetres more than the old model. The Storck should be able to cope with trips on unpaved roads without any problems.
On the Cyclingworld in Düsseldorf For the time being, Storck is only presenting a team version of the Facenario.5. The all-rounder will be available from July at the earliest with exclusive add-on parts and initially only in frame size M. In terms of groupsets, there is a choice between Shimano Dura-Ace or SRAM Red AXS, while three versions of the in-house brand Zeitjäger - including a model with carbon spokes - or a set from DT Swiss are available for the wheels. The logical consequence of this is that the Fascenario.5 Team is not a bargain. The complete bike costs at least 9499 euros.
