However, sensitive racing bikes are better cleaned by hand - or with a low-pressure cleaner. The latest model from Kärcher is called the OC 3 and is mobile: the 2.2-kilo yellow box has water and electricity on board. Up to four litres fit into the little cleaner, which takes up about as much space as half a water tank. The water jet comes out of the spray gun with gentle pressure and a wide spray pattern; one litre is enough for two minutes of continuous sprinkling. Enough time to soak a racing bike and spray it down again after lathering. Only after almost 20 minutes and nine empty tanks (36 litres) did the green flashing LED signal to us that the battery would soon be empty. After a good two hours at the socket, the battery was full again. Our verdict on the 160 euro OC 3: positive overall, although the optional dockable Bike Box (40 euros), which contains a special brush, cleaner and cloth and is a useful addition to the package, was not yet available at the time of testing.
PLUS Good battery performance, economical water consumption, mobile use
MINUS Fuel tank release a little bulky
Price 160 Euro, set price with bike box 180 Euro
