When installing bottom brackets with conventional tools, it can happen that you slip off with the insertion tool: Then there are ugly scratches in the bearing shells - or even on the new frame. With the new "TS 239" for Shimano's Hollowtech II bottom bracket, this can no longer happen: The tool is supported by a mandrel in the opposite bearing and cannot tilt or slip. If the bearings are loosened during disassembly, they can be easily unscrewed with a toggle. A torque spanner can be placed on the 19-millimetre hexagon for professional assembly. The test crew from the TOUR laboratory is delighted with the new tool, which also fits FSA bearings. For 80 euros, it is a worthwhile investment for professional and frequent tighteners.
PLUS: Protects the frame and bearing shells from damage
MINUS: previously only available for Shimano Hollowtech II
