Patching a tubeless tyre requires a different set of tools than with a classic tubular road bike tyre, but our two TOUR testers are experienced mechanics and got on well with the Dynaplug puncture kit: The metal mandrel with the rubber-like patch sausage fixed in it can be easily pressed into the damaged area and the compressed CO2 gas for inflation can be finely dosed, according to their conclusion. Once there is sufficient pressure in the casing, the mandrel is pulled out and the patch closes the hole, which works reliably in practice and seals punctured tyres permanently. The slightly protruding rubber sausage wears off over time, but if it is centred in the tread, it is initially minimally noticeable when riding on asphalt. The complete repair kit includes the mandrel, two CO2 cartridges, four plugs and an adapter hose for Presta and car valves. It fits neatly into a small neoprene bag the size of a folded racing bike inner tube. The full designation is: Air Tubless Bicycle Tire Repair Kit.
