Individual test: Birzmann chain riveters
At first glance, the "Dragonfly" chain riveter looks and feels like a window handle.

When working, the shape is impressive and the 280 gram riveter sits securely in the hand. Nine-, ten- and eleven-speed chains can be riveted thanks to the two inserts supplied if original replacement rivets are used. Riveting with used rivet pins as with the Rohloff tool is not possible. Compared to the Rohloff or Shimano chain riveter, the chain tends to jam due to the large opening of the abutment, as the outer plate is only minimally supported. This means that the chain has to be bent back and forth several times after riveting to make the riveted link move again. A replacement mandrel is supplied and the tool is available in black or silver.

PLUS: fits well in the hand; high quality

MINUS: Chain can tilt

Price: 59,90 Euro
