TIPS
SaveIf new brake pads are not supplied with new locking screws, use the used ones with fresh liquid locking compound.
BrakingTest the brakes off the road after each fitting or replacement of the brake pads to get used to the changed braking behaviour and to break in the pads. Check the screws on the brake pads and brakes again after 100 to 300 kilometres.
ControlCheck regularly whether the brakes can build up sufficient braking force at all times, even for full braking. The levers must never be able to be pulled all the way through to the handlebars, even if the pads are worn!
Trade fairsCheck the wall thickness of the rim flanks regularly from the second set of brake pads at the latest and at least every time you change the brake pads. If the wall thickness falls below one millimetre, the brake track may burst due to the pressure in the tyre, depending on the rim type!
