TIPS
- Stay on top: If possible, transport and store the road bike so that the brake levers are at the highest point. Upside down, air can get into the lines and render the brake ineffective.
- Drive smoothly: The main cause of brake noise is an incorrectly aligned brake calliper. In TOUR 11/2013-> are tips for correct adjustment.
- Clean up: The brake calliper should be cleaned after riding in the rain or every few hundred kilometres. Do not use a pressure washer, but water with a little soap. Allow the bike to dry well and turn the wheels occasionally to prevent the disc from corroding in one place.
- Stay oil-free: Any oil that has accidentally got onto the brake disc must be removed immediately with isopropyl alcohol. Pads that have come into contact with oil must be replaced.
