These parts must function optimally. The best tricks for Campagnolo, Shimano and SRAM

Degree of difficulty: for talented hobby mechanics

Tool: Hexagon socket, Phillips screwdriver and open-end spanner

TIPS:

- Regularly apply a drop (not a jet!) of oil to the joints of the rear derailleur, front derailleur and brakes after washing and drying to maintain smooth operation.

- Check the screw connections of the brakes, derailleurs and front derailleur as well as the other screws on the racing bike with a torque spanner according to the manufacturer's specifications after the first 100 to 300 kilometres of riding and then every 2000 kilometres.

Campagnolo

1. the most important setting is the end stop inwards. Turn the crank slowly and push the rear derailleur inwards by hand. Turn the rear Phillips head screw to the right for more travel. The front screw forms the outward limit stop.

Shimano

1. the inner end stop is limited with the rear lower Phillips screw. In principle, this is the same as with Campagnolo and Sram, but has the advantage that you can look directly from behind at the position of the guide roller to the sprocket during adjustment.

SRAM

1. adjust the inner end stop on the slightly large-looking screw at the top or further in. This aluminium screw fits a 2.5 mm hexagon socket precisely.

SRAM Red Doubletap

1. the brake cable can be routed along the inside and outside of the handlebars on the Sram Red levers. As with Campagnolo, this expands the choice of suitable handlebars.
