Many road cyclists think that any child can change a flat inner tube. That's right. But with the TOUR tips, you can change defective inner tubes like a pro in future.

Many road cyclists think that any child can change a flat inner tube. That's right. But with the TOUR tips, you can change defective inner tubes like a pro in future.

Degree of difficulty: for everyone

Auxiliary means: Tyre lever, air pump

Tip 1:
Punctures on road bike tyres are often the result of punctures. The inner tube is crushed when riding over an edge. Precaution: Adjust the tyre pressure, which you should check regularly at least once a week.

Tip 2:
Many punctures do not occur from the outside, but from the inside, when the plastic or textile rim strips slip and expose the edges of the spoke holes. Regularly check that they are correctly seated.

Tip 3:
Do not use screwdrivers, spanners or similar tools to remove the tyre, only plastic tyre levers - otherwise you will damage the inner tube or the rim.

1. unscrew the valve cap, open the knurled nut at the top of the valve and press it into the valve body until the air has completely escaped. Press both sides of the tyre cover together over the entire circumference of the wheel so that the tyre foot is in the deepest part of the rim well.
