Bottom brackets and cranks have become lighter and stiffer in recent years - and considerably easier to fit. Nevertheless, precision is essential to ensure that power is converted into speed and turns smoothly and continuously.
TIP 1: Please note that you will have to change the position of the front derailleur when replacing a crank with classic gear ratios with one with smaller chainrings. Campagnolo offers a special derailleur that is designed to ensure better shifting behaviour.
TIP 2: Let us help you install the crank and bottom bracket! On a brand new frame, the bottom bracket shell must be milled flat and the thread inside cut. Leave this to the specialist dealer and his special tools.
TIP 3: Check the tightening torque of the screw connections with a torque spanner after 200 to 400 kilometres of driving and then every 2000 to 3000 kilometres.
