Degree of difficulty: for experienced screwdrivers

You will need:

  • Tool: Specific bottom bracket tool, steering head bearing press-in tool, hexagon socket, socket spanner inserts and torque spanner
  • Excipients: Assembly grease, bearing grease, rags

Tip 1
Exploded drawings are a good aid for assembly and are available from most manufacturers on their websites, also as a download.

Tip 2
When dismantling, lay the parts down in an orderly fashion to facilitate subsequent reassembly.

Tip 3
Check the screw connections after about 200 to 400 kilometres of driving with the torque spanner and then every 2,000 kilometres.

CAMPAGNOLO ULTRA TORQUE SYSTEM

1. check which variant of the common housing types your frame has - the easiest way is to measure the housing width: The most common is the 68 millimetre BSC variant with a thread of inch size 1,370 x 24tpi. Special feature: The right-hand shell in the direction of travel is mounted with a left-hand thread.

CANNONDALE HOLLOWGRAM SYSTEM INTEGRATION

1. hold a crank and a chain stay at the same time and loosen the screw of the crank with a long 8 mm hexagon socket. Caution, risk of injury: Do not use a short spanner!
