TIPS
- Taboo zone Take care not to apply wax to the clamping areas of carbon parts, including the braking surfaces of the rims and the brake pads.
- Warehouse killer Steam cleaners are high-speed cleaners whose sharp jet of water shoots away dirt and salt in no time at all - but unfortunately also the urgently needed lubrication of the chain, sprockets and bearings.
- Dry run Check the bottom bracket shell to ensure that any water that has penetrated can run off. If necessary, unscrew the cable guide screw. If necessary, remove the seat post so that the inside of the frame can dry out.
- Protective layer The paintwork suffers where cables rub and the chain can hit; corrosion can occur on metal frames. As a precaution, protect such areas with transparent, tough adhesive film.
