I would like to fit a suspension seat post to my bike. What do I need to consider?

Firstly, you should check whether there is enough space for the suspension post. Parallelogram seat posts in particular require a relatively large amount of space between the saddle and seat tube. Measure the free length of the normal seatpost below the mounting mechanism to compare it with the height of the suspension post.

Also make sure that the diameter of the suspension support matches the seat tube exactly. If the suspension support can only be fitted with a spacer sleeve due to a smaller diameter, this sleeve must be long enough and reach under the top tube.
