Test 2016: Road bike mudguards from SKS
Spray from tyres is just as unpleasant as rain and sleet from above. To protect against spray, SKS now offers the Raceblade mudguards in an extended version as the Raceblade long.

The mudguards (520 grams per pair) also cover 28 mm tyres; they are each in two parts and are mounted to the brake bridge and quick-release using retaining plates with quick-release fasteners. The plates for the brakes are supplied in three different lengths, those for the quick-release mounting are standardised and fit universally. Mounting on the brakes is a little tricky, and you should make sure there is enough air between the tyre and the brake bridge and fork crown so that nothing rattles; only the strutless short mudguard can rattle on bumpy surfaces due to the flexible retaining plates. The long and wide mudguards provide good and reliable protection and keep out most of the splash water.

PLUS Good protective effect, easy to position, easy to dismantle
MINUS the short mudguards tend to rattle
