Test 2016: BBB mudguard for road bikes
The mudguard set from BBB consists of four parts and is mounted on the brakes and quick release using aluminium plates and struts.

All four mudguards in the 340 gram set can only be fitted to standard frames with sufficient clearance. On aero racers, it can get tight on the down tube and/or seat tube if the clearance to the tyre is too small. Mounting the aluminium brackets on the brakes requires patience when aligning them. The struts can be easily fixed with a quick release and mounted without tools. Up to a tyre width of 30 millimetres, the rain guards offer good protection, although with very voluminous 30 mm tyres it can become too tight under the brake bridge or the fork crown, depending on the bike model. We did not notice any rattling noises. A practical feature is that the mudguards can be quickly removed when not in use. A small but significant point of criticism: Under unfavourable circumstances, the strut can pop out of the bracket attached to the quick-release; the plug-in connection should be tighter or fixed with a screw.

PLUS Reliable splash guard, flexible, easy to dismantle
MINUS Plug connection between strut and bracket too loose

Price 50 Euro
