The recalled tyres were manufactured between the tenth week of 2023 and the 24th week of 2023. The recall relates to "certain problems in the compatibility of the tyre with some rims". Pirelli immediately launched a recall and suspended sales of the affected products, including those already on the market. The recall methods for the products already on sale are currently being finalised with the relevant authorities, according to a press release. Pirelli promises that the website www.pirellicycling.com will soon explain how the recall of affected products will be carried out.

With the P ZERO Race TLR, Pirelli presented the tubeless version of its clincher tyre for racing bikes in March. The tyre is manufactured at the modernised Pirelli plant in Milan-Bollate.
According to the press release, the structure of the P ZERO Race TLR consists of "a tread with the SmartEVO formula, a state-of-the-art polymer compound that offers excellent grip and low rolling resistance. The inside of the tyre differs from that of its predecessor: the new SPEEDCORE technology is used here, which offers low rolling resistance and high puncture protection by reinforcing the carcass with aramid fibres without making it stiff. Aramid has chemical-physical properties that make it highly resistant to traction, cuts and heat, thus enhancing the mechanical properties of the tyre itself". Pirelli had stated at the launch that the structure of the new P ZERO Race TLR is "more flexible and thinner than a traditional butyl rubber layer, with improved mechanical resistance properties compared to the previous version of the product and able to offer better puncture protection than a classic fabric casing from bead to bead".
