Like the Dura-Ace groupset, Mavic's current top-of-the-range Yksion Pro GripLink tyre also had to prove its suitability for everyday use over 5,000 kilometres.

Overall, our test rider attested to the tyre, which weighs just 200 grams (per piece), as having inconspicuous running and secure grip properties on any road surface and in any weather. There was only one puncture during the spring. Here, however, rolling chippings on the partly still wintry roads were the reason for a cut in the tread and the loss of air. The 5,000 kilometres can be seen on the tyres, especially on the rear wheel, as the tread is largely worn down. We would recommend replacing the tyres here.

PLUS Lightweight; unobtrusive rolling and adhesion properties
MINUS not extreme, puncture-proof

Continuous test performance 5,000 kilometres
