Wahoo advertises its top model Tickr X as one of the lightest chest straps (45 grams), although three straps in our small test field are already lighter, and the claim is not true either. Even if the US manufacturer cannot claim this superlative for itself: The Tickr X is far ahead in terms of wearing comfort, ease of use and functions. When the sensor is attached to the belt, two indicators light up on the top of the sensor and the device is ready for use. If nothing lights up, the battery needs to be replaced. The new model enables three Bluetooth connections at the same time, plus any number of ANT+ connections. Pairing with devices from Garmin, Hammerhead and Wahoo works without any problems, with the Huawei smartwatch the connection only worked on the third attempt. Features such as cadence measurement on the roller trainer and detailed running parameters make the belt a good choice for multisport athletes. The cheaper Wahoo Tickr model (€49.99) does not have these features, but is a solid chest strap that is easy to connect.
