Physiotherapist Armin Brucker from Freiburg recommends one hour of compensation training after five hours of cycling training. He convinced former German professional cyclist Johannes Fröhlinger with his recommendations - after a knee injury, Frühlinger took a lot of time for balance training at home.
This is not just about avoiding pain and injury: A weak core cannot maintain the pedalling power of the legs - some of the power is wasted. That's why regular strength and stability training should be an integral part of every cyclist's daily training routine, recommends Brucker, regardless of whether they are a professional or amateur athlete.
