New functions have been available for Strava users since February. New features include optimised recording of indoor activities such as roller training or yoga, a location display directly in the feed and an easier activity search in the Strava app. All new features are available in both the web version and the mobile app.
Improved recording of indoor activities: Until recently, indoor activities were displayed in the same way as outdoor training (with speed and distance). With the adapted indoor function, athletes can now view more important indicators such as start and elapsed time and heart rate while exercising indoors. When using a heart rate monitor, the calories burned are also recorded.
Location display directly in the feed: From now on, the location of GPS activities will be automatically transferred to the activity details and displayed in the feed. This allows users to see where friends or family are training without having to click on the individual maps. For recordings without GPS (e.g. indoor training), the location is not automatically transferred.
Targeted activity search in the mobile app: From now on, you can also search for specific activities in the mobile app. The endless scrolling through the feed to search for a specific bike tour has finally come to an end! Instead, a filter can be used to search precisely by sport, distance, time, altitude, date range and type (training or competition). In addition, Strava users can see at a glance how many activities they have recorded based on the filters they have set. The search function can be accessed via the "magnifying glass" in the training diary or in the activities in your own profile.
Statistics retrieval directly in the app: Instead of being sent an email as before, Strava members can now compare their own sporting performance over the last few months directly in the app.
