Indicating obstacles, signalling the change into different formations or bringing the group to a halt - when and how hand signals are useful when riding in a group is actually obvious. Nevertheless, many road cyclists neglect hand signals when they are travelling in a group. Especially in a competition, you should be prepared for the fact that not every cyclist will pass on the danger spots using hand signals.
