For many road cyclists, shooting down into the valley is the ultimate after a long climb to the summit. For others, on the other hand, riding downhill is a necessary evil that they have to put up with in the mountains. It doesn't have to be, because travelling quickly, safely and yet relaxed is not rocket science, it's just practice. It makes sense not to start with the exercises shown at the marathon on the first pass, but at home in a remote and traffic-free area. This is a safe way to learn the correct riding posture in the various positions and the basic exercises, for example for balance on the bike and effective braking. Important: Start carefully and increase the speed and level of difficulty slowly. Feelings of happiness are guaranteed when you practise, for example when you jump over an empty cardboard box for the first time without touching it. The fact that such a jump can then prevent material damage or even an accident on the way increases the joy of riding even more.
