Zwift Click enables wireless, virtual shifting in the Zwift environment and can be flexibly attached to the handlebars. Zwift Cog functions as a single-speed sprocket and replaces the cassette of the Tacx NEO 2T or 3M. It is compatible with almost all 8-12 speed bicycles and has an integrated chain guide that prevents the chain from falling off. Zwift Cog is also designed to adjust the chain for optimum positioning and enable a virtually silent ride.
The Tacx NEO 2T is now compatible with the Zwift Ride Smarter frame. This allows it to be transformed into an all-in-one smart bike. This features integrated handlebar controls and enables customisable virtual shifting while training and riding on Zwift. Susan Lyman, Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing, explains: "We are excited to work with Zwift to make indoor training even more realistic. Whether you're training for the next big race or just enjoying a group ride with friends, these new integrations can help riders get the most out of their ride."
Cyclists using a Tacx NEO 2T or 3M Smart trainer can now use the race mode. This is designed to enable an ultra-fast response from the indoor trainer during attacks or sprints during virtual races on compatible platforms. When using the Tacx Training App, the trainer's mileage can now also be documented with a virtual odometer. These functions should help to make indoor training even more realistic and motivating.
Eric Min, co-founder and CEO of Zwift, emphasises the importance of the collaboration: "Thanks to the fantastic collaboration between our two companies, we are delighted to be able to offer Garmin users the Zwift Ready experience. We firmly believe that virtual shifting, enabled by Zwift Cog and Click, offers the best Zwift riding experience and I am delighted that Garmin fans can now take full advantage of this technology." The partnership between Garmin and Zwift aims to provide indoor cycling enthusiasts with the most realistic and immersive training experience possible.
The new features and compatibility enhancements are available for the Tacx NEO 2T and 3M Smart trainers. Zwift Cog and Click can be used with these trainers to enhance the virtual shifting experience. The Zwift Ride Smarter frame is specially designed for the Tacx NEO 2T and allows it to be converted into a fully-fledged smart bike. Garmin and Zwift recommend that users update their devices to the latest firmware to take advantage of all the new features.
