Until now, Cycleops has only offered exercise bikes with roller drive. With the new Hammer, the Americans are now joining the trend of smart trainers with direct drive. The 25-kilo device is equipped with a nine-kilo flywheel designed to give the rider the most realistic pedalling experience possible. A small fan is integrated into it to protect all rotating parts and the electronics from heat collapse under high continuous load; the manufacturer puts the maximum resistance at 2,000 watts, which is standard in this class. The hammer transmits its training data via ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart and is compatible with sensors and digital training platforms from third-party providers such as Zwift, TrainerRoad or Kinomap. Practical: The legs with level levelling are foldable and reduce the pack size. Further information at: http://www.cycleops.com
