Eurobike 2016 Shoes: Shimano RC9 S-Phyre - Shimano now with Boa fastener: the top shoe RC9 S-Phyre

New name, new design: Shimano is launching its new top model RC9 on the market under the name S-Phyre, with the abbreviation RC standing for Road Competition. Another new feature is the use of the proven, bidirectional Boa fastener, which allows the shoe to be closed and opened in fine increments. As the upper material is made of very thin synthetic leather, the top shoe can be finely adjusted to any individual foot shape. The sole is made of stiff carbon material and allows for efficient power transmission when pedalling. The RC9 will go on sale at the end of October in the colours blue, yellow and white at a price of 359 euros. This may not be a bargain, but at least the price includes colour-matching socks with padding on the instep. A cheaper RC7 version will also be available.
