Anyone who was hoping that the electric motor would avoid road bikes will now have to be brave. Several bike manufacturers confirmed behind closed doors at Eurobike that they are working intensively on e-road bikes. The "Harrier E" from ZEG's own brand Bulls (€4,699) is not an announcement, but has already been fully developed and will soon be available in many bike shops. The bike is a mixture of gravel bike and pedelec and is so well equipped for the reasonably moderate price that you could almost think that the 250 watt Bosch motor was included for free. In addition to an Ultegra Di2 drivetrain, there is also a Supernova lighting system and 40 millimetre wide gravel bike tyres from Schwalbe. An e-road bike from the Belgian brand Eddy Merckx, which was shown as a study at Eurobike, is also quite advanced. The motor and battery integrated into the down tube are supplied by the young Munich-based company Fazua. According to an Eddy Merckx employee, the 12-kilo bike could be on the market within a year. http://www.bulls.de http://www.fazua.com
