Cyclingworld Europe took place for the sixth time in 2024. In the first few years, the bike fair was still called Cyclingworld Düsseldorf. Visitors enjoyed the crème de la crème of the bicycle and e-bike world presented by the exhibitors at the Areal Böhler.
Last year, the trade fair reported a record attendance of 23,000 bike fans. A new record was set in 2024. A whopping 25,000 people were drawn to the Areal Böhler in Düsseldorf. The weather was more inviting than last year.
Once again this year, the latest trends in the bicycle industry could be discovered at the bicycle trade fair in Düsseldorf. Around 320 exhibitors and a total of around 450 brands contributed to this in the indoor area. In the outdoor area, Cyclingworld offered a spacious festival area with around 80 additional exhibition stands. Here, bikes and more could be tried out in practice. The exhibition space was almost fully booked out before the event. This shows the importance of the trade fair in the industry. Stefan Maly, the initiator and Managing Director of Cyclingworld, also said in the run-up to the trade fair: "The variety of exhibitors and the early utilisation of space for 2024 show that Cyclingworld Europe has once again gained in importance in the industry and beyond. We are particularly pleased that we can once again welcome many international exhibitors and offer a diverse supporting programme. The trade fair in the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia is therefore once again proving to be the perfect place to meet for the public and the industry at the start of the cycling season."
This year, the trade fair utilised the entire space available at the Areal Böhler with six exhibition halls. Among other things, the following were presented:
Looking at bikes is all well and good, but you get more emotion when you try out a bike. Cyclingworld had prepared the Demoworld and a special off-road demo track for this purpose. A cyclocross race also took place there on Saturday, and the tough mud was a real test of strength. There were also countless rides and races where everyone had the opportunity to take part and explore the surrounding area. It all started with the Rrrrrrringadingdoooooong opening ride. Shortly before the opening of the trade fair, the ride rang loudly through the halls of the Areal Böhler. There were several road bike and gravel rides every day. A rally ride to Cyclingworld was also on the programme. Anyone looking for a special challenge could also take part in a race. The annual Fixedgear Crit is a bike race without brakes, gears and freewheel on a short lap. Those who prefer off-road were not left alone either, as the cyclocross race, which took a break last year, was back on the Cyclingworld programme. Here too, the aim was to ride in a circle, so to speak, on a short lap. The race lasted 45 minutes plus one lap.
Participation was also possible indoors, of course. With the Virtual Hero open racing series, the trade fair audience was able to take part in short, exciting virtual bike races. In two final races in Düsseldorf, one winner was crowned who qualified for a start in the final of the racing series at the Eurobike in Frankfurt have qualified.
The entire "Glühofenhalle" was reserved for the youngsters. The Puky Kids World was set up here. On the course, the little ones had lots of fun practising their personal skills and getting fit for road traffic.
Cyclingworld Europe has created a varied concept for visitors that deliberately mixes all the thematic areas from the world of bicycles and e-bikes in a colourful way. Handmade next to worldwide, small exhibitors next to large ones. It encourages visitors to think outside the box and discover new things. The concept, or rather the common thread, is a love of bikes.
