Right at the start of the 2023 season, the first highlight awaits the Philipps Bike Team in the southwest of Mallorca: the TOUR Training Camp Mallorca will take place in Santa Ponsa from 25 February to 4 March. With plenty of expertise in structured training and the familiar ingredients for days that are as sporty as they are enjoyable, participants can expect a packed programme on and off the bike. TOUR editor Thomas Musch will also be in Santa Ponsa.
Road bike training on Mallorca: Targeted training with ex-professional Christian Knees
The TOUR Mallorca training camp will also be supervised by Torsten Weber from PMP-Coaching, the project founded by Weber and former professional cyclist Christian Knees. He has devised a few special training sessions for the TOUR camp participants. In addition to the extensive programme on the bike, there will be a special focus on bike fitting and athletic training to ensure that they also cut a good figure off the bike. For this purpose, gebioMized and Patrik Vogl Performance will be on hand with their specific expertise.
The motto of Philipp's bike team "Everything can, nothing must" is also reflected in the TOUR training camp Mallorca. We set off daily in four different ability groups on a total of five day tours of varying length and difficulty per group and preparation goal (minimum 3 participants, maximum 14 participants per group). Everyone can train at their own level of ability within the range on offer. A change within the groups is possible every day. This means that the cycling week at Philipps Bike Team can be customised. On the climbs, it is usually "free ride", then the riders set their own pace up to the top of the pass.
Cycling holidays on Mallorca between pass and pool
At Punta del Mar, the home base hotel, you not only meet the guides, the service staff and the organisation of Philipp's Bike Team, but also many other guests - not just from your own group. Over dinner or at the pool bar, there is time and space for humorous conversations, an exchange about the day's experiences or world events. And it's not always about watts and cadence. The dose of togetherness can be customised.
The Punta del Mar also has a bike station and workshop right in the hotel. Rental bikes are stored there, adjusted to your individual size and riding position and the team is also on hand if a service is required during the week. In the boutique, you can add equipment and clothing or simply browse and get advice.
