Be honest: who has ever heard of the Passo del Vivione (1,828 m)? Yet this small crossing in the Bergamo Alps is one of the top ten most beautiful Alpine passes.

This little road, which has just one lane at the top, is the connection between the rear Val Camonica and the high valley of Valle di Scalve, which is insignificant for traffic. While the north-eastern valley town of Forno Allione can be clearly named, the south-west ramp actually starts at the village of Azzone in the Scalve valley. However, if you start there, you will miss a scenic highlight of the region: the Fiume Dezzo gorge. Over a length of almost ten kilometres, the river has eaten its way deep into the mountain between Angolo Terme and Azzone. Although long tunnels in the gorge spoil the ride, the formerly dark holes are now all illuminated.
