Tour characteristics
Round to the edge of the Alps and the Traunsee lake nestled there. After just four kilometres, you turn onto a lonely, flat, imperceptibly ascending road to the south and cycle directly towards the Alps. From Eberstalzell, you mostly follow the Almtal cycle path (R 11). Shortly before the halfway point, the only tough climbs await: the first next to the B 120 towards Gmunden, the second in the Laudachtal valley directly at the foot of the Traunstein. At the top (at kilometre 44) there are two inns: Zum Silberfuchs (www.gasthaus-silberfuchs.at) and Franzl im Holz (https://gasthaus-franzlimholz.stadtausstellung.at). At the Traunsee lake, we turn north-east and cycle back on country roads with little to no traffic (six kilometres of rough asphalt before Steinerkirchen).
