Road bike tours in Upper Austria - Tour 2: Through the rural Hausruck region

Tour characteristics

The elevation profile of the Hausruck loop resembles a saw blade. Behind the Wels suburbs, a rural landscape follows to the west. A longer, moderate climb (3 to 8 %) to Wolfsegg offers a clear view of the Alps. The deeper the route leads into the Hausruck, the prettier the villages, grassland replaces grain fields. After Eberschwang, a winding road climbs to 719 metres, the highest altitude of the tour. From there it is briefly steep, then almost imperceptibly downhill - just under 40 kilometres to Wels. • 0.0 Start Wels, under the Traun bridge (bar "Isola Bella") | cycle paths 4 and 6 (white arrow on green background) to the west, do not cross the river
• 6.5 right crossing (not signposted) | uphill, straight ahead at traffic lights
• 17.8 km right Offenhausen, junction (not signposted) | "Arzt", at 24.5 km left: "Mostlandlteiche"
• 26.3 left Gaspoltshofen, junction | Schwanenstadt, after 500 m at the roundabout straight ahead: via Ottnang to Zell, at km 36.9 turn right
• 43.2 right Zell am Pettenfirst, junction at the end of the village | Ried, behind the railway tracks (45.6 km) left: Neukirchen
• 48.3 left turn-off | Frankenburg, there (Km 54.4) right: Ried
• 56.7 left turnoff | Waldzell, at the junction (63.8 km) right: via Schildorn to Eberschwang
• 74.1 left Eberschwang, junction | Ried, immediately right: via Geboltskirchen, Weibern and Kematen to Wels
• 116.4 Finish Wels, Traunbrücke (Bar "Isola Bella")
