Those who go off the beaten track will be surprised by varied and exciting mountain routes. The TOUR Transalp 2021 is all about these insider tips. In 2021, the route will take you over small, inconspicuous passes such as the Forcella Franche on the way to the lakeside road on Lago del Mis in the Belluno region. In the starting town of Bruneck, a remote road leads up to Tesselberg. There are also new things to discover on Monte Grappa. The Transalp has already travelled over this mountain several times, but never before on this new, panoramic side route. The climb up to the large plateau between Monte Grappa and Trento in the Adige Valley is also new. It leads from Primolano up to Foza with fantastic views. The short, winding descent over the Scale di Primolano to the valley floor of the River Brenta, which passes through the narrowest point between Valsugana and Bassano del Grappa, is an exciting announcement. The subsequent crossing over the plateau and finally over the Passo Vezzena to Lavarone is also completely new and beautiful to ride. Despite the first TOUR Transalp crossing in 2016, the remote and bizarre Passo San Boldo with its hairpin bends carved into the rock as tunnels remains an insider tip.
Five of the eight stage towns are completely new: Bruneck, San Martino di Castrozza, Possagno, Asolo and Lavarone have never been travelled to before - so even old Transalp hands will be treated to completely new impressions.
In seven stages, 17,790 metres in altitude are spread over 781 kilometres. Participation is possible as an individual starter or in a team of two. The start is in Bruneck - the finish is in Arco on Lake Garda.
Participants who can prove that they are unable to take part in the TOUR Transalp due to Covid-19 or the effects of the pandemic have the right to cancel free of charge and to a refund of the entry fees paid.
