The road over the Flüela Pass has connected Davos with Susch, i.e. the Prättigau with the Lower Engadine, since 1866. However, the third highest pass on the Tour de Suisse after Nufenen and Furka has been one of the most important crossings in the Alps for much longer. A bronze spearhead found at the top of the pass suggests that our ancestors crossed the Flüela more than 4,000 years ago.

Flanked by the three-thousand metre peaks of the Weisshorn and Schwarzhorn, the asphalt ribbon winds its way into a barren high valley. As both valley villages are well above the one thousand metre mark, the climb, which the Tour de Suisse peloton has already had to ascend 16 times, is neither particularly long nor extremely steep.
