The Women's World Tour, the most important racing series in women's cycling, starts again in mid-January with the Tour Down Under. The stage race in Australia lasts three days. This will be directly followed by the men's Tour Down Under, the start of the men's World Tour. The men will be racing a total of six stages from 21 to 26 January. A detailed preview with all altitude profiles have already been compiled.
In addition to the World Tour kick-off in Australia, the races are already underway in Europe. The Ruta de la Ceramica (25 January), Classica Valenciana (26 January) and the Mallorca Challenge (from 29 January) are traditionally the first races in which some of the stars of the peloton can be seen on European soil. The Mallorca Challenge is a multi-day event consisting of a total of five one-day races - so-called trofeos - and runs until 2 February. The same format is also used for the women's race with three trofeos from 25 January to 27 January. On the Spanish mainland, some of the top female riders are expected to make an appearance at the fourth edition of the Women Pro Cycling Costa de Almeria on 19 January.
Away from this, the men's AlUla Tour (28 January - 1 February) at the end of January marks the start of several races in the Middle East scheduled for February.
