SKS Germany is launching two new multi-tool series on the market. The MIA series (Mini Assistant) is aimed at sporty riders, the TOM series (Tour Mechanic) at touring riders. Both series use chrome vanadium steel for the tools and a forged aluminium housing. The TOM models have a particularly flat design and can be stowed in bike bags or rucksacks.

Tom & Mia - two new multitools from the Sauerland region

SKS Germany has been known as a pump specialist for decades. The legendary racing compressor is still considered an icon today, and many current floor pumps and mini pumps also bear the "Made in Germany" label. In the tool segment, on the other hand, SKS has so far been rather narrowly positioned - making it all the more exciting to take the step of launching the new Multitools Tom and Mia to present two compact companions for everyday use. Both models are made in Sauerland and are intended to expand this tool category.

The flat TOM

The Tom model is aimed at riders who are looking for a robust, versatile tool for touring and commuting. It is available in the different sizes 8, 11, 14 (old model) and 22 at prices between 19.99 and 35.99 euros with the number of tools staggered accordingly >> available here. Tom 8 combines the most important hexagon socket and Torx sizes with screwdrivers, and the 22 is even equipped with a chain riveter. The tools are made of hardened steel and the aluminium plates on the sides ensure stability and a pleasant feel. Despite the wide range of functions, Tom remains compact enough to easily disappear into a jersey pocket or saddlebag.

The slim MIA

Mia takes a different approach: it is smaller, lighter and deliberately reduced. Here too, there is an 8 and a 12 version, the latter with chain rivet and cost 29.99 and 44.99 euros. The tool concentrates on the essential bits for quick adjustments on the go - ideal for road bikes, gravel or bikepacking when every gram counts. The slim design facilitates handling, and the precise workmanship shows that SKS takes its quality standards seriously in the tool sector too. Both tools benefit from being manufactured in Germany, which enables short distances, high material control and clean workmanship.

This is our impression

With Tom and Mia, SKS is expanding its portfolio in a meaningful way. The tools are not a revolution, but they show that SKS can also play in the tool segment - functional, solid and with the typical "Made in Germany" claim. The MIA models appeal to sporty riders who prioritise low weight and efficiency. The TOM series offers more functions for touring riders. This concept works because every target group can choose the right tool for them.
