In the relationship between man and racing machine, the saddle is the most sensitive interface. Anyone who has found a suitable seat should think twice before switching to a different model. It is not without reason that many racing cyclists remain loyal to a particular model throughout their entire career. If, on the other hand, your backside starts to ache after just a few kilometres or - and this is hardly more pleasant - if you suffer from permanent crotch numbness when cycling, you should take action. A different saddle is needed. But which one?

We have intensively re-examined all standard test methods for saddles, such as blood flow and pressure distribution measurements, and have come to the conclusion that they are inadequate: They do not provide a clear basis for evaluating saddles. Precisely because the subject of saddles is so individual, the best test method is a practical test. 58 testers rode 32 saddles for TOUR. With the help of their experiences, every "seat type" can find the right saddle.
