Test 2016: Fabric Alm Shallow Ultimate road bike saddle
The Alm Shallow Ultimate is the lightest and most sophisticated saddle in the young Fabric brand's range to date. The carbon fibre composite shell and frame look as if they have been cast from a single mould.

No seams are visible on the 150 gram lightweight seat and the thin upholstery on the wide saddle cover appears to have been vapour-deposited. According to the manufacturer, Airbus engineers were at work on this extremely accurate finish. The very flat and wide profile is best suited to riders with a wide sit bone distance. Our tester found the shape, which rises slightly towards the rear, to be particularly comfortable when riding uphill. Due to the pronounced edge at the front, sprinter types with strong thighs should definitely try out the seat before deciding in favour of the 330 euro saddle. And because of the highly oval cross-section of the frame struts, you should check beforehand whether the saddle fits on your own seat post at all.

PLUS excellent workmanship, lightweight, flexible frame
MINUS expensive

Price 330 Euro
